Medication Mangement
Understanding Medication Management
At Mariposa Integrative Psychiatry, medication management is a collaborative process focused on helping individuals achieve improved mental health and overall well-being. Medication can be a valuable treatment option for certain mental health conditions, but it is only one part of a comprehensive treatment plan.
We understand that many individuals have questions, concerns, or uncertainty about psychiatric medications. Our approach is thoughtful, individualized, and never rushed. We believe in taking the time to fully understand your symptoms, medical history, treatment goals, and personal preferences before discussing whether medication may be appropriate.
Most importantly, we do not believe that everyone needs medication, and we do not automatically prescribe medication during an evaluation.
Will I Need Medication?
Not necessarily.
Medication is not the right choice for everyone, and many factors are considered before recommending treatment. During your evaluation, we will discuss your symptoms, how they are affecting your daily life, previous treatment experiences, medical history, lifestyle factors, and personal goals.
Some individuals may benefit from medication, while others may benefit from supportive care, lifestyle modifications, education, symptom monitoring, or a combination of approaches.
Our goal is to provide you with information, guidance, and recommendations so you can make informed decisions about your care.
We Don't Just Jump Into Medication
At Mariposa Integrative Psychiatry, we believe treatment should be personalized—not rushed.
Before considering medication, we take time to:
🦋 Understand your symptoms and concerns
🦋 Review your medical and psychiatric history
🦋 Discuss previous treatment experiences
🦋 Evaluate lifestyle factors that may impact mental health
🦋 Explore stressors and contributing factors
🦋 Identify your treatment goals
🦋 Answer your questions and address concerns
🦋 Discuss the benefits and potential risks of treatment options
🦋 Consider non-medication approaches when appropriate
We believe you deserve a treatment plan that feels comfortable, informed, and aligned with your individual needs.

Whether medication becomes part of your treatment plan or not, our priority is helping you find the approach that best supports your mental health and overall well-being.
The Mariposa Approach
At Mariposa Integrative Psychiatry, we believe medication should be considered thoughtfully and used when it is truly appropriate—not as a one-size-fits-all solution. We take a holistic, patient-centered approach that focuses on understanding the whole person rather than simply treating symptoms. Through comprehensive evaluations, supportive care, education, and collaborative decision-making, we work with you to determine the best path forward for your unique needs and goals. If medication is recommended, we will take the time to explain your options, answer your questions, and ensure you feel informed and comfortable with your treatment plan. Our butterfly symbolizes growth, healing, and transformation, reflecting our commitment to helping you make empowered decisions and achieve lasting emotional wellness. 🦋
