Psychiatric Evaluations
A place to start when you’re looking for answers, support, or a better understanding of what you’ve been experiencing.
A psychiatric evaluation is a comprehensive conversation designed to better understand your mental health, current symptoms, history, and treatment needs. You don’t need to know exactly what is going on before your appointment—we’ll work through it together.
Appointment Length: Approximately 60 minutes
What to Expect
1. Schedule Your Appointment
Choose a convenient telehealth appointment time. Before your visit, you’ll complete intake forms and provide information about your current concerns, medical history, medications, and treatment history.
2. Tell Me What’s Bringing You In
During your evaluation, we’ll talk about what you’ve been experiencing and what has been affecting your day-to-day life. This may include concerns with anxiety, depression, focus, mood, sleep, stress, trauma, or other changes you’ve noticed.
3. Review Your Mental & Medical Health History
We’ll discuss your mental health history, medical conditions, medications, previous treatment, family history, sleep, substance use, and other factors that may be relevant to your overall well-being.
4. Explore Your Symptoms & Goals
We’ll take a closer look at your symptoms, how long they’ve been present, how they affect your daily functioning, and what you would like to improve. Your goals and preferences are an important part of the evaluation.
5. Discuss Clinical Impressions
After gathering the necessary information, we’ll discuss the clinical picture and any potential diagnoses or areas that may need further evaluation. When appropriate, additional information or testing may be recommended.
6. Create Your Personalized Treatment Plan
Together, we’ll discuss treatment options based on your symptoms, goals, preferences, and needs. Your plan may include medication management, supportive care, therapy recommendations, lifestyle and wellness strategies, or referrals to other professionals when appropriate.
7. Follow Up & Adjust as Needed
Mental health care is an ongoing process. Follow-up appointments allow us to monitor your progress, discuss changes or concerns, evaluate treatment response, and make adjustments when needed.
You Don’t Have to Figure It Out Alone
If you’ve been feeling overwhelmed, anxious, mentally exhausted, stuck, or simply not like yourself, a psychiatric evaluation can be a place to begin.
Let’s take the first step together.
